A lack of knowledge and understanding is one of the main reasons why many people are opposed to biotechnology. In addition, we tend to view things that are natural as less risky or dangerous than those created by man, as Food Insight reports. This concern is perhaps the most cited by those who oppose GMOs. It is very difficult to predict what will happen in an ecosystem in which a new organism, genetically modified or not, has been introduced.
